Meet the man behind the meat

Joe wanted to be a pitmaster as far back as he can remember. His favorite spot growing up was Sonny’s BBQ accompanied with cherished memories of chasing food trucks and roadside smoke with his parents. He was instantly hooked on the smell of burning wood, clouds of smoke and fire.

From an early age, Joe became, inspired by local barbecue legend, Perry, from Perry’s Roadside. He would beg his parents to stop when he saw his propane-tank smoker on the side of the streets. At the young age of 16, Joe began his career in the hospitality industry at Nancy’s BBQ.

Over the past 15 years, Joe has worked across bistros, hotels and fine dining establishments building his skillset and continuing to fuel his own fire: Joe The Boar.
